about

Resatio — a real name, is a visual artist by day and designer by night, though often it's vice versa, based in Adelaide/Kaurna Yarta, Australia, and originally from Bandung, Indonesia. He got his start in Bandung's street culture scene as a freelance designer making t-shirt graphics. Later came collages, drawing, assemblage, digital art, and zines. Most of it is built from public domain material.

His work has been shown at Selasar Soenaryo Art Space (Bandung New Emergence Vol. 5), National Design Centre Singapore (2023 Gif Fest), Superchief Gallery, and Theatre of Digital Art Dubai, with digital presentations through Fakewhale.xyz, — alongside JICAF and other exhibitions across Asia, Europe, and America.

In 2017 he co-founded Pagggges, an exhibition bringing together artists and illustrators around art zines. His zines have been part of Melbourne Art Book Fair, among others. He is also a member of Omnispace, an artist collective based in Bandung.

Since 2021 he has been making blockchain-based work on Tezos and Ethereum, including the early days of H=N before the lights went out.

His work makes people stop, squint, and ask questions. Sometimes about the art. Sometimes about the meaning of life.

And now for something completely different: when not in the studio, he's probably at a random skatepark doing sketchy slappies and pretending it's part of the creative process.
